After a stint in managing medical clinics, he saw fundamental challenges in the Malaysian healthcare that could be resolved through new business innovations and technologies. Hence, the birth of DoctorOnCall, Malaysia’s leading digital health platform that offers affordable, accessible telehealth consultation and online pharmacy.

This includes a vast repository of health content as well as a comprehensive specialist listing and booking platform. With its extensive network of over doctors & specialists in private hospitals throughout Malaysia, patients are able to order and receive prescription drugs safely and promptly. Recently, the Ministry of Health established partnership with DoctorOnCall to develop digital health solutions in the battle against Covid-19.

Prior to establishing DoctorOnCall, he led complex strategy, merger, technology and supply chain engagements in leading multinationals & consulting firms. Maran has substantial regional management experience across Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore.

Maran holds a Bachelors in Commerce & Management from University of Lincoln, New Zealand (Recipient of Tenaga Nasional Foundation Scholarship). He has also successfully completed executive programs in Stanford University and Harvard University.

In addition, Maran is a member of the Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA), Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Nadiah holds an MSc in Public Health (Nutrition) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK and was awarded the Hecht Bequest for Best Student in Public Health (Nutrition) upon graduation.

She pursued her undergraduate studies in Biochemical Sciences at Harvard College (AB cum Laude, ’07) while conducting research at Boston Children’s Hospital with grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She is currently an Interviewer for Harvard College admissions and the Vice President of the Harvard Club of Malaysia.
